GEN24 Plus Inverter Compatibility

The Fronius Reserva is a DC-coupled battery that connects directly to the DC bus of a compatible Fronius GEN24 Plus inverter. It is compatible with two variants:

  • Fronius Symo GEN24 Plus: For three-phase electrical connections. Available in 3 to 10 kW output.
  • Fronius Primo GEN24 Plus: For single-phase electrical connections. Available in 3 to 10 kW output.

The Reserva does not operate with any other inverter. For new solar-and-battery installations, specifying the GEN24 Plus from the outset is the straightforward path.

The 3.15 kWh module size is smaller than the 5 kWh increments common in other modular batteries. This allows more precise capacity matching to your energy profile.

LFP Chemistry and DC-Coupled Efficiency

The Reserva uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry. It is thermally stable, and well-suited to DC-coupled operation. LFP handles daily cycling better than NMC over a 10-year warranty period. The DC-coupled design means solar energy flows directly into the battery, without an AC conversion step. This reduces conversion losses.
