The Tiger Neo is a solid mid-range panel. It is not glass-glass in standard residential configurations, does not include a labour warranty, and carries a 25-year product and performance warranty. As one of the most widely deployed panels in Australia, Jinko has a real Australian service track record.
Trina Solar — Vertex S+
Trina is another of China’s largest panel manufacturers, with a similar market position to Jinko — high volume, well-distributed in Australia, and present in a large proportion of residential installations across the country. The Vertex S+ uses N-type TOPCon technology and competes directly with Jinko’s Tiger Neo at a similar price point.
Trina’s specifications are marginally behind Jinko’s — slightly lower peak efficiency and the same degradation rate. Like Jinko, it uses polymer backsheet construction, carries a 25-year product and performance warranty, and includes no labour warranty. Its Australian track record is long and the distribution network is strong.
Aiko — Neostar 3S
Aiko is a Chinese manufacturer that has entered the Australian market more recently than Jinko or Trina. It uses ABC (All Back Contact) technology — a design that moves all cell contacts to the rear of the panel, eliminating front-side busbar shading and enabling higher efficiency than conventional TOPCon designs. The Neostar 3S 475W is Aiko’s primary residential panel in Australia.
Aiko has generated genuine industry recognition in a short time. It won the SolarQuotes Installers’ Choice Award in both 2025 and 2026 — the most respected independent installer survey in Australia. Its specifications are impressive: 23.8% peak efficiency, -0.26%/°C temperature coefficient, and 0.35% annual degradation. It carries a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty.
The main caveat is its track record. Aiko has been in the Australian market for a relatively short period. Its warranty reputation, long-term service capacity in Australia, and ability to honour claims at scale over 20+ years remain to be proven here. Awards and impressive specifications do not substitute for a demonstrated long-term presence.

3. Category-by-Category Analysis
Efficiency
Aiko leads clearly at 23.8% — roughly 1.8 percentage points above Jinko and 2.3 percentage points above Trina. For a 22-panel system, that efficiency advantage translates to meaningfully more power from the same roof area. On a constrained roof where panel count is limited, Aiko’s efficiency advantage is practical, not just theoretical.
Jinko and Trina are close to each other, with Jinko holding a slight edge. Neither approaches Aiko’s efficiency with the ABC cell design.
Temperature coefficient
All three use polymer backsheet construction and are subject to Perth’s heat. The temperature coefficient measures how much output drops for each degree above 25°C. Aiko’s -0.26%/°C is the best of the three — significantly better than Jinko and Trina’s -0.30%/°C. On a 40°C Perth summer day, with roof surface temperatures potentially exceeding 70°C, the difference compounds across the day and across the season.
In Perth’s climate specifically, a better temperature coefficient is not a marginal spec point — it is a meaningful real-world performance factor.
Degradation and long-term output
Aiko degrades at 0.35% per year after an initial year-one loss of up to 1%, guaranteeing at least 88.85% output at 30 years. Jinko and Trina both degrade at 0.45% per year and guarantee approximately 87.4% output at 25 years — their performance warranties run for 25 years, not 30.
Aiko wins on degradation rate, annual output retention, and the length of its performance warranty. For a system expected to run for 25 to 30 years, this difference grows over time.
Construction — all three use polymer backsheets
This is where all three panels share the same limitation. The standard residential Neostar 3S, Tiger Neo, and Vertex S+ all use mono-glass construction with a polymer backsheet. None are glass-glass in their standard residential configuration.
Polymer backsheets can yellow, delaminate, and lose dielectric strength over time when exposed to Perth’s UV intensity and thermal cycling. This is a well-documented long-term durability consideration for polymer-backed panels on Perth rooftops. All three brands have addressed this with improved backsheet materials in recent generations, but the fundamental limitation of glass-polymer versus glass-glass construction remains.
Aiko does offer a dual-glass bifacial model (the Neostar 3P and 3S+). However, these are positioned at a higher price point and are a different product from the standard residential 3S most commonly quoted in Perth.
Warranty depth
All three panels carry a 25-year product warranty. Aiko extends this with a 30-year performance warranty — five years longer than Jinko and Trina. None of the three include a labour warranty. If a panel from any of these brands needs replacing due to a manufacturing defect, the panel replacement may be covered — but the cost of an electrician attending the roof to remove, replace, and recommission the panel is not.

4. Where Does Aiko Sit Relative to Jinko and Trina?

The trade-off is track record. Jinko and Trina have long Australian histories. Aiko does not.
