We recently installed a Solar and Battery system in Como for our customer, Stephen. The 8.8kW of Canadian Solar panels are connected to a 5kW Sungrow Hybrid inverter and 6.4kWh Sungrow battery.
6.4kWh is the smallest Sungrow Battery size and may not always last the entire night. However, with the help of West-facing panels, it provides enough energy to cover the afternoon & evening loads.
After 9pm, if the battery becomes depleted, Stephen continues to achieve savings on the cheap overnight ‘Off-Peak’ rate.
Stephen’s plan is to monitor the system for the next 6 – 12 months, then increase the battery size with an appropriate number of extra battery modules.
