We recently installed a Solar and Battery system in Kensington for our customer, Dom. The 10.66kW of SunPower panels are connected to a 5kW iStore Hybrid inverter and 15kWh iStore Battery.
When Dom purchased the property, there was already an existing 5kW system. However, he was surprised to find that his electricity bills were still over $600. And after a few inconvenient power-outages, Dom had had enough. It was time to ‘Think Positive’
At first, a simple battery retrofit was considered. But after analysing his import / export data, it was decided the existing system was inadequate. There was not enough excess solar power to fully charge a battery.
Instead, it was decided a full system upgrade was the best course-of-action. Out with the old, in with a new modern hybrid inverter, battery, and 10+kW of sleek all-black solar panels.
This solar & battery installation in Kensington can produce an average of 44 kWh per day. Plenty of energy to power the home and charge-up the battery.

It’s been 12 months since we installed this system for Dom. Time to check-in and see the results…
Over the last year, Dom has used 8,544kWh of energy from his Solar & Battery. That’s a lot of avoided grid power! Combined with the feed-in tariff credit made from excess solar power, Dom has achieved $2,877 in savings!
Not only that, but Dom has since replaced his old gas hot water system with a new efficient iStore Heat Pump which will deliver an additional ~$700 in savings per year!
