We recently installed a Solar and Battery system on this home in Woodlands for our customer, David. The 16.72kW of Jinko Tiger Neo solar panels are connected to a 15kW Sungrow Hybrid inverter (SH15T) and 20kWh Sungrow SBH Battery.
David already had a 3.5kW system installed 12-years ago. But with plans to convert his home to all-electric, it was time for an upgrade. The 15kW Sungrow Hybrid inverter was chosen for 3 main reasons:
- Triple MPPT allowed the new solar panels to be split North, East & West for a wider spread of solar power production throughout the day.
- 15kW max AC power output allows the system to supply even the highest loads such as his large air-conditioning unit without drawing additional power from the grid
- Whole Home Backup capability for blackout protection. Most other systems are suitable for backing up essential circuits only.
This 16.72kW Solar & Battery system in Woodlands can produce an average of 68 kWh per day, while the 20kWh battery stack can be expanded to 40kWh if need be.

Installed in December, it’s been 4 months now since we installed this Solar & Battery system in Woodlands. Let’s check out how David’s savings are going so far…
Total Energy Usage = 6,510 kWh = 53.8 kWh per day on average.
- From Solar & Battery = 5,390 kWh = 82.8% self sufficiency
- From Grid = 1,120 kWh

With new Battery Rebates recently announced, David enquired about expanding his 20kWh battery. We advised an additional 10kWh would suffice, but he decided to expand the battery to a full 40kWh stack instead. The extra battery capacity will allow David to run his air-conditioner even more freely throughout the hot Summers and cold Winters. He might even achieve 100% self-sufficiency!
