Most solar companies are very good at the install. The questions worth asking are these. What happens the day after? What happens in year five, when your inverter throws an error code? What happens in year twelve, when your output starts tracking lower than it should? Who answers the phone, and what can they actually do about it?

Our answer is Positive Energy Protection. It is our after-sales service, and it is included on every system we install. This post explains what it is, who does what, and what it means for you in practice.

1. What Positive Energy Protection Is

Positive Energy Protection runs on two tiers.

Tier one is our own team. Positive Energy has an in-house service manager and two engineers. They are your point of contact. They know your system, because we designed it. They handle the relationship, the escalations and the engineering.

Tier two is Omnidian, the after-sales specialist behind our service. Omnidian provides the 24/7 monitoring software, the first-line support, and the field-service technicians, with a local team here in Perth. Omnidian is an award-winning after-sales partner, recognised in the Global Cleantech 100 in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

That combination is the point. Real engineers who know your system, plus monitoring technology at a scale no in-house team could run on its own. It is included on every Positive Energy system, and it is not an upgrade tier or an optional extra.

2. Tier One: Our Own Service Team

When something needs attention, you deal with Positive Energy. One phone number. One team. The same people who designed and specified your system.

Our service manager owns your case from the first call to the resolution. Our engineers handle the technical work: interpreting the data, diagnosing the fault, deciding what the system actually needs. If a component is covered by a manufacturer warranty, we lodge and manage that claim for you. You do not chase the manufacturer, and you do not sit between us and them.

This matters because after-sales is where solar most often falls down. A system sold today carries warranties that run ten, twenty-five, even thirty years. A warranty is only as good as the team standing behind it, and the team is the part you can check before you buy.

3. Tier Two: The Technology and Field Network Behind Us

Omnidian gives our service team three things.

24/7 monitoring software. Your system is monitored around the clock against its own expected output, not against a generic benchmark. When production drifts from what your system should be producing, the software flags it. Most issues surface here first, and many are resolved before you are aware of them.

First-line support. Questions get answered quickly, whether that is how to read your app or why the display changed after a firmware update.

A local Perth field-service team. When a site visit is needed, a qualified technician attends, with your system’s monitoring history and fault log in hand.

Omnidian works across brands, so the view of your system covers the whole of it: panels, inverter and battery together, not just one manufacturer’s component. That is useful when a fault could sit in more than one place.

4. What This Looks Like in Practice

For most customers, Positive Energy Protection is quiet. The system performs, the monitoring runs, and there is nothing to act on. The value shows up in the exceptions.

  • Proactive monitoring for maximum uptime. Your system is monitored 24/7 against its expected output, so issues are caught and actioned, often before you are even aware.
  • A 5-star customer care team. Real experts, a click or call away whenever you need after-sales support.
  • A field service network. An on-site technician across Perth for any maintenance, repair or replacement.
  • Hassle-free, peace-of-mind ownership. Quick resolution, minimal downtime, and your solar and battery savings maximised for the long term.

5. If Something Goes Wrong

Call Positive Energy. That is the whole process on your side.

We triage the issue with our own engineers, using the monitoring data. Many faults are resolved remotely: a connectivity drop, a setting that has drifted, a firmware issue. Where a technician is needed, we arrange the visit. Where a manufacturer warranty applies, we lodge and manage the claim. You are kept updated, and you do not need to contact the panel, inverter or battery manufacturer yourself.

6. How It Works Alongside Your Warranties

Positive Energy Protection does not replace your manufacturer warranties. It puts them to use.

Your panel, inverter and battery warranties stay with their manufacturers. On top of them, every Positive Energy system carries a 10-year installation workmanship warranty, and we are your single point of contact for any claim.

The practical difference is the monitoring. Without it, a warranty claim depends on you noticing a problem, working out which component is responsible, finding the paperwork, and approaching the manufacturer, often years after the install. With Positive Energy Protection, the data identifies the shortfall and we start the process. A warranty is only useful if someone is watching whether the system is meeting it.

7. Included on Every System

Every system we design and install is registered for Positive Energy Protection from day one. Monitoring begins immediately. It is part of how we back the systems we build.

If you are comparing quotes in Perth, it is worth asking every company the same three questions. What happens after installation day? Who is my point of contact in year ten? How will I know my system is underperforming before it shows up on my bill? The answers are part of the product you are buying.
