Fronius Reserva Battery Perth: 9.5 to 15.8 kWh, supplied and installed
Your panels make most of their power at lunchtime. Your home uses most of its power after dark. The Fronius Reserva stores the difference, so the solar you made at noon runs the house at night. It is built by Fronius, the Austrian company behind the GEN24 Plus inverter.
We supply the 9.5, 12.6 and 15.8 kWh sizes across Perth, on single or three phase, installed by our accredited installers and signed off to Positive Energy’s completion standards. It suits a home that already has a GEN24 Plus and a home starting from scratch. Every price is after the WA and Federal rebates you qualify for, and includes GST.

Fronius Reserva 9.5 kWh
Fronius Reserva 12.6 kWh
Fronius Reserva 15.8 kWh
Prices cover every address between Yanchep and Mandurah. They assume the battery is added to a compatible Fronius GEN24 inverter, with a smart meter already in place. Backup is an optional extra from $2,290, for the whole home or for essential circuits, depending on your inverter. The price changes if the switchboard needs work, the cable run is difficult, or the home is double storey. Starting from scratch? A new solar and battery system with a GEN24 Plus inverter and SunPower panels is priced separately. Your exact price is confirmed in your quote.
What the Fronius Reserva is, and the range we install in Perth
The Fronius Reserva is a home battery built as a tower. Each tower is a stack of 3.15 kWh lithium iron phosphate modules, two to five high, on one base. In Perth we supply and install the 9.5, 12.6 and 15.8 kWh towers with the Fronius GEN24 Plus hybrid inverter, from $9,390 after the WA and Federal rebates.
Fronius is an Austrian family company. It has made solar inverters since the 1990s and has been in Australia since 2009, with an office in Subiaco. Fronius designed the Reserva for its own hybrid inverters. For you, that means one app to open and one maker to call. The inverter, the battery and the app were built to work together from the start.
Your panels make DC power. Your home runs on AC power. The inverter’s job is to turn one into the other, and every time power is converted a little is lost. The Reserva is DC-coupled, which means it is charged straight from the panels before the inverter does that conversion. The power is converted once, on its way into the house, so less is lost and more of the solar you make ends up as power you use. Fronius rates the battery at 95 per cent efficiency at 0.2C, and you can use 94.5 per cent of what it holds.
The cells are lithium iron phosphate, the chemistry used in home batteries because it is stable and long-lived. They are tested to IEC 62619:2022, which includes the thermal runaway test: the check that one hot cell cannot set off the cells beside it.
Every tower is 772 mm wide and 176 mm deep, and only the height changes with the size. It is IP65 rated, which means it is sealed against dust and water jets, so it suits a garage wall or a covered spot outside. The datasheet lists China as the country of manufacture. The design, the software and your data are handled by Fronius in Austria.

Figures from the Fronius Reserva datasheet, EN_AUS V05, May 2026. The power a tower can charge or discharge at depends on the temperature, how full it is, and the inverter it is connected to, which sets the limit. Our range starts at the 9.5 kWh tower. Prices are our shop’s figures, checked on 21 September 2026.
How the Fronius Reserva works: the Solar.web app and a Perth blackout

On a normal day you do nothing. The panels power the house first. What is left over charges the Reserva. Once the battery is full, the rest goes to the grid, up to Western Power’s export limit. After sunset the battery runs the house until it is empty or the sun comes back.
The Fronius Solar.web app puts it all on one screen: what the panels are making, how full the battery is, what the house is using, and what is going to or coming from the grid. It is one app for the inverter and the battery. Our guide to the GEN24 Plus and Reserva as one system goes deeper. If a storm is forecast, the app’s battery control charges the Reserva to full and holds it there for 24 hours. One thing you will see that is normal: every two months or 50 cycles, the Reserva runs a calibration charge to 100 per cent and back down to zero. That keeps its gauge accurate.
PV Point or Full Backup: what actually runs in a blackout
Fronius offers two levels of backup. PV Point is built into every GEN24 Plus. It powers one fused outlet or circuit, up to 3 kW, single phase, and needs no battery. Think fridge, router and phone chargers. It switches over in under 15 seconds.
Full Backup is what most Perth homes ask for. It needs the GEN24 Plus, the Reserva and a Fronius Backup Controller in the switchboard. When the grid drops out, the controller disconnects your home from the street on its own and hands it to the battery and panels in about ten seconds. When Western Power restores supply, it reconnects. On our pricing it is an optional extra from $2,290. How much of the house it covers depends on the inverter. A Primo GEN24 10 kW Plus (single phase) or a Verto Plus (three phase) backs up the whole home. The other GEN24 Plus sizes back up essential circuits: two on a 5 kW single-phase inverter, and one per phase on a 10 kW three-phase Symo.
If a long outage runs the battery flat overnight, the system starts itself again when the first sun hits the panels. Fronius calls this black-start capable. On a whole-home system, lights, fridge, Wi-Fi and TV run without a second thought. Ducted air conditioning runs with care, one large load at a time. The oven, the pool pump and the EV charger wait for the grid. Our GEN24 Plus backup guide has the full appliance table.
Which Fronius Reserva suits your Perth home
The right size is set by how much power your home uses between sunset and sunrise. That is the power the battery has to cover. Your consultant works it out from your Synergy bill and from where your home is heading: a growing family, an electric car, or going all-electric.
| Evening and overnight use | Home | Phase | Fronius Reserva | Inverter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 9 kWh a night | A couple or a small family: lights, fridge, TV, a split system | Single or three | 9.5 kWh | Primo GEN24 Plus or Symo GEN24 Plus |
| Up to 12 kWh a night | A family home with ducted air conditioning in the evening | Three | 12.6 kWh | Symo GEN24 Plus |
| Up to 15 kWh a night | A large home, a pool, an electric car charged overnight | Three | 15.8 kWh | Symo GEN24 Plus or Verto Plus |
| More than one tower | Whole-home backup for days, a workshop, a big house | Single or three | Two to four towers, to 38.4 or 63 kWh | Primo 10 kW, Symo or Verto Plus |
Single phase: the Fronius Reserva stops at 9.5 kWh a tower
Most Perth homes are single phase, so they run the Primo GEN24 Plus. The Primo takes the 9.5 kWh tower; the 15.8 kWh tower runs at a voltage above the Primo’s range, which is fixed in the hardware. Need more storage on single phase? Add another tower beside the first. Up to four towers connect together, for 38.4 kWh in all.
Three phase: up to 15.8 kWh a tower and 63 kWh in all
A three-phase home runs a Symo GEN24 Plus or a Verto Plus. Either takes the full 15.8 kWh tower, and four towers together give 63 kWh.
Adding modules later
You can start at 9.5 kWh and add modules later, within limits. Fronius asks that a new module is added within two years and before the tower has done 300 cycles. Add one later than that and the whole tower runs at the health of its oldest module. If you think you will want a bigger battery, our advice is to size it now while the rebates are at this year’s rate.
The inverters that run the Reserva: Fronius GEN24 Plus and Verto Plus
The battery is only half the system. The inverter is the other half, and it decides how fast the battery can charge and discharge. Fronius makes three that take the Reserva; our Fronius inverter page covers the full range. All three are made in Europe, with production at Sattledt, Austria, and are IP66 rated, so they can be mounted outside. Each carries a 10-year Fronius Warranty Plus once it is registered on Solar.web. Each meets CSIP-AUS, the standard Western Power has required on new connections since May 2026.
Primo GEN24 Plus is the single-phase inverter, sold in sizes from 3 to 10 kW, with two MPP trackers so your panels can face two directions. The size you choose sets how fast the battery can charge and discharge, whatever the battery’s own rating says. A Primo 5.0 Plus moves up to 5,170 W into or out of the battery; a 10.0 Plus moves up to 10,360 W. For most homes the 5 kW is the right pick, because it keeps Synergy’s DEBS export credit. The 10 kW is the one to choose if you want whole-home backup on single phase.
Symo GEN24 Plus is the three-phase inverter, 3 to 10 kW. Full Backup is available on the 6, 8 and 10 kW sizes only, and it is limited to 3,680 VA per phase. That covers the circuits that matter, so on a Symo we design backup for essential circuits.
Verto Plus is the three-phase inverter for a home that wants everything backed up. It runs from 15 to 33.3 kW, has three MPP trackers, and gives Full Backup across all three phases. Its Backup Power Boost lifts output to 30 kVA for a moment, long enough for an air conditioner compressor or a bore pump to start. It takes the same Reserva towers. Our guide to the three inverters goes deeper.
Already have a GEN24 without the Plus? Fronius offers a software upgrade called UP.storage that switches on the battery port and Full Backup. A photo of the sticker on your inverter tells us which one you have. If you drive electric, the Fronius Wattpilot EV charger pairs with the GEN24 Plus and charges the car from your solar.

What a Fronius Reserva costs in Perth, and the rebates
The 9.5 kWh is from $9,390, the 12.6 kWh from $12,490 and the 15.8 kWh from $13,690, after the WA and Federal rebates. Those prices are for adding the battery to a compatible Fronius GEN24 inverter with a smart meter already in place, anywhere between Yanchep and Mandurah. Backup is an optional extra from $2,290. The three sizes are listed in our Fronius battery-only packages. Switchboard work, a difficult cable run or a double-storey home changes the figure. Starting from scratch? A 6.6 kW system with SunPower panels (see our solar panels page) plus a Reserva 9.5 kWh is from $14,090 on our solar system prices page.
The two rebates on a Fronius Reserva
The Reserva is on the Clean Energy Council approved list, so it qualifies for both rebates. The Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes roughly 30 per cent off the price. Since 1 May 2026 the full rate applies to the first 14 kWh of a battery, with a smaller rate above that. The WA Residential Battery Scheme pays Synergy customers $130 for every usable kWh, up to $1,300. To get it, you join the Synergy Virtual Power Plant, which can call on your battery up to 30 times a year, and you can opt out after two years. A WA no-interest loan up to $10,000, powered by Plenti, lets you pay the rest over time. As a New Energy Tech Approved Seller we claim both rebates and take them off your price up front. Both rebates step down on 1 January 2027, so this year’s price is the better one. The current rules are on our WA solar and battery rebates page.
Why a battery pays in Perth
Any solar system above 5 kW in Perth is held to Western Power’s 1.5 kW export limit. Solar you cannot send to the grid is solar you either use on the spot or lose. With a Reserva, it goes into the battery instead. Selling it is worth little in any case: Synergy’s DEBS pays 10 cents for a kWh exported between 3 pm and 9 pm, and 2 cents at any other time. On the Midday Saver tariff, a battery that fills in the low-cost middle of the day and runs the house through the expensive evening is exactly what the plan was built for. Our export limiting guide shows how a battery changes the picture.

The one decision to make early is where the tower will go. It can go indoors or in a protected spot outside, such as under an eave or a carport roof. It sits out of the weather and direct sun, with two metres of clearance from anything hot, such as a hot water unit. In Perth the usual answer is the garage wall beside the inverter. One in four batteries we install is added to an existing system, so our crews have seen most switchboards. If you would like to see a Reserva before you decide, visit our Osborne Park showroom, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. The full range is on our solar batteries page.
Fronius Reserva warranty and support, in plain words
10 years, 70 per cent
Fronius warrants the Reserva in Australia for 10 years, and promises it will still be at 70 per cent state of health or better at the end, a measure of how much it can still store. Fronius also sets a total amount of energy each tower can put through in that time. The warranty runs to whichever limit is reached first.
10 years on the inverter
Once it is registered on Solar.web, the GEN24 Plus or Verto Plus carries a 10-year Fronius Warranty Plus. That covers parts, service and transport. The documents are on our warranties page.
10-year workmanship, one call
Our own installation workmanship is covered for 10 years, with us as your single point of contact for any manufacturer claim. Positive Energy Protection, Powered by Omnidian, watches your system 24/7 alongside Solar.web, with our own engineers in Perth and field technicians behind them.
Two conditions are worth knowing. The warranty holds as long as a battery that runs flat is charged again within 14 days. And a module added after the two-year window takes on the health of the older modules beside it.
Fronius Reserva 9.5 vs 12.6 vs 15.8: the range compared
| From, after rebates | $9,390 | $12,490 | $13,690 |
| Phase | Single or three | Three | Three |
| Suits | The size most Perth homes add to an existing system; covers a normal evening; grows by adding a tower | A family running ducted air conditioning through the evening | A pool, an electric car charged overnight, or power still in the battery at breakfast |
All three towers share the same modules, the same footprint, the same warranty and the same app. Only the height changes. Whichever tower you choose, the inverter sets how fast it can charge and discharge. The battery’s output is capped at 32 A, so even four 15.8 kWh towers together charge and discharge at about 16.4 kW.

Fronius Reserva Perth: your questions answered
How much does a Fronius Reserva cost installed in Perth?
From $9,390 for the 9.5 kWh, $12,490 for the 12.6 kWh and $13,690 for the 15.8 kWh, after the WA and Federal rebates. Those prices are for adding the battery to a compatible Fronius GEN24 inverter with a smart meter already in place. Backup is from $2,290.
Will the Reserva work with the Fronius inverter I already have?
Yes, if it is a Primo GEN24 Plus, a Symo GEN24 Plus or a Verto Plus. A GEN24 without the Plus can take a battery once it has the UP.storage software upgrade. An older SnapINverter or a Symo Hybrid is paired with a new GEN24 Plus, which we price in your quote. A photo of the sticker on your inverter tells us which one you have.
Why can a single-phase home only have the 9.5 kWh tower?
It comes down to voltage. The Primo GEN24 Plus accepts a battery running between 150 and 455 V. The 15.8 kWh tower runs at 464 to 568 V, which is above that range, so Fronius lists the Primo for the 6.3 and 9.5 kWh towers only. A single-phase home that needs more storage adds a second tower.
What runs in a blackout with a Fronius Reserva?
With PV Point, one 3 kW outlet or circuit: enough for the fridge, the router and phone chargers. With Full Backup on a Primo 10 kW Plus or a Verto Plus, the whole home. With Full Backup on the other GEN24 Plus sizes, your essential circuits. In every case, run air conditioning with care, and leave the oven, the pool pump and the EV charger until the grid is back.
How long does the switch to backup take, and does it restart itself?
About ten seconds for Full Backup on the GEN24 Plus, eleven on the Verto Plus, and under 15 seconds for PV Point. That gap is long enough that a computer or router will restart. And yes, it restarts itself: if the battery runs flat overnight in a long outage, the system starts again when the first sun reaches the panels. Fronius calls this black-start capable.
Can I add more modules to a Fronius Reserva later?
Yes, within limits. A single-phase tower takes up to three modules and a three-phase tower up to five, and up to four towers can be joined together. Fronius asks that any new module is added within two years and before the tower has done 300 cycles.
Can the Fronius Reserva go outside in Perth?
Yes, in a protected spot. It is IP65 rated, sealed against dust and water jets, and rated for -20 to +55 degrees Celsius. A wall under an eave, a carport or a covered side path suits it, out of the weather and direct sun.
What is the Fronius Reserva warranty in Australia?
Ten years, with the battery still at 70 per cent state of health or better, or the total energy Fronius allows the tower to put through, whichever is reached first. The GEN24 Plus carries a 10-year Fronius Warranty Plus once it is registered, and our installation workmanship is covered for 10 years.
Where is the Fronius Reserva made?
The Fronius datasheet lists China as the country of manufacture for the battery. The GEN24 Plus and Verto Plus inverters are made in Europe, with production at Sattledt, Austria. The battery is designed and supported by Fronius in Austria, and your data is stored only on European servers.
Does the Fronius Reserva get the WA and Federal battery rebates?
Yes, both. It is on the Clean Energy Council approved list. The Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes roughly 30 per cent off, and Synergy customers who join the Synergy Virtual Power Plant get $130 for every usable kWh, up to $1,300, from the WA scheme. Both step down on 1 January 2027.
Is a Fronius Reserva worth it in Perth?
For most homes with a system above 5 kW, yes. Western Power holds those systems to a 1.5 kW export limit, so solar you cannot send to the grid is solar you use on the spot or lose, and a Reserva is where it goes instead. Selling it is worth little: Synergy pays 10 cents for a kWh exported between 3 pm and 9 pm and 2 cents at any other time, so a stored kWh used at night is worth more than an exported one. Both rebates come off the price up front, and your quote shows the figure for your own bill.
Is the Fronius Reserva safe?
Yes. Its cells are lithium iron phosphate, the stable chemistry used in home batteries, tested to IEC 62619:2022, which includes the check that one hot cell cannot set off the cells beside it. The housing is IP65 rated and works from -20 to +55 degrees Celsius. It is installed out of direct sun, two metres from a heat source, with 300 mm clear on either side, and Positive Energy Protection, Powered by Omnidian, watches it 24/7 alongside Solar.web.
How long does a Fronius Reserva last?
Fronius warrants it for 10 years and promises at least 70 per cent state of health at the end, or the total energy it allows the tower to put through, whichever is reached first. Every two months or 50 cycles it runs a calibration charge so its gauge stays accurate. A module added after two years or 300 cycles takes on the health of the oldest module beside it.
Which battery works with a Fronius GEN24 Plus?
The Reserva is the battery Fronius designed for its own hybrid inverters, so the inverter, the battery and the Solar.web app work as one system, each with a 10-year Fronius warranty. It pairs with the Primo GEN24 Plus at 9.5 kWh a tower, and with the Symo GEN24 Plus and Verto Plus at up to 15.8 kWh a tower, with up to four towers joined together.
