SP and TP: Single-Phase and Three-Phase

The SigenStor SP is the single-phase variant. Positive Energy Solutions installs SP systems in 5 kW and 10 kW inverter sizes. The 10 kW SP backs up your entire home during a grid outage. The 5 kW SP provides essential circuit backup. Most Perth homes built before the mid-2010s have single-phase power. The SP is the more common installation for those properties.
The SigenStor TP is the three-phase variant. Positive Energy Solutions installs TP systems in 5 kW, 10 kW, and 15 kW inverter sizes. Three-phase power is standard in most newer Perth homes, homes with three-phase ducted air conditioning, and homes with EV chargers or other high-draw three-phase loads. The 15 kW TP delivers whole-home backup across all three phases at once. Few home battery systems at this price offer that level of resilience.

Battery Capacity: 9 kWh to 54 kWh
The SigenStor battery is modular. Each battery module holds 9 kWh of usable capacity. Modules stack together in a single enclosure. A single stack takes up to six modules, giving a maximum of 54 kWh per stack.
Western Power network rules currently allow a maximum of three SigenStor stacks for homes in the Synergy network area. In practice, most Perth homes install one or two stacks. This depends on daily energy use, roof size, solar system size, and budget.
A typical Perth home uses between 20 and 30 kWh per day. This covers heating, cooling, cooking, and general appliances. One stack at 18 kWh or 27 kWh covers overnight use and gives a solid backup buffer for blackouts. Larger households, homes with pools, or homes with electric vehicles may benefit from two stacks.

How the SigenStor Works With Your Solar
DC-coupled is the standard setup for new SigenStor installations. In this setup, your solar panels connect directly to the SigEnergy hybrid inverter. The inverter sends solar power to the battery first. It then converts the extra power to AC for household use and grid export. This direct DC path is more efficient than AC-coupled options, because it skips an unneeded conversion step.
Solar charges the battery during the day. At night the battery discharges to power the home. The Synergy Midday Saver tariff has very low off-peak rates between 9 am and 3 pm. On this tariff, the SigenStor’s AI load management can charge during low-cost periods first, then discharge in the afternoon peak window. On the standard A1 tariff with DEBS feed-in, the system aims to use your own solar first.
The SigenStor can also be set up as an AC-coupled system. This connects it to an existing solar inverter from another brand, without needing to replace it. It suits homeowners with a recent, well-functioning inverter they want to keep. AC-coupled systems have slightly lower round-trip efficiency. They are not eligible for the WA Residential Battery Loan, but they do qualify for the Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program.
AI Energy Management
The SigenStor includes a predictive AI energy management platform that goes beyond simple time-of-use scheduling. The system checks local solar forecasts and learns your household’s usage patterns over time. It then adjusts charge and discharge decisions on its own, without needing manual input.
In practice, this means the SigenStor can expect a cloudy afternoon and hold more reserve charge. It can also charge from the grid ahead of an evening peak period on a variable tariff. The AI layer is adjustable. You can set your own priorities, or leave the system to manage itself.

Backup Power During a Grid Outage
The SigenStor switches to backup mode on its own during a grid outage. The switch takes under 5 milliseconds. This is fast enough that most appliances do not notice the switch.
What the system backs up during an outage depends on your inverter size and phase setup. The 10 kW SP provides whole-home single-phase backup. The 15 kW TP provides whole-home backup across all three phases at once. Smaller inverter sizes back up pre-selected essential circuits only. Your installer confirms these circuits at installation.
During daylight hours the solar array keeps generating power. This extends how long backup power lasts. The SigEnergy app gives real-time details of battery state, current draw, and estimated runtime under your current load.

V2X: Vehicle-to-Everything Support
The SigenStor supports Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) as an optional feature. You need a compatible bidirectional EV charger and a V2X-capable vehicle. With these, your car’s battery can top up the SigenStor. It can also power your home on its own if the SigenStor runs down.
V2X is not yet widespread in Australian home installations, but the list of compatible vehicles is growing. The SigenStor’s built-in V2X support means the system is ready as more vehicles become available. SigenStor NEO: A New Variant Coming in 2026
SigEnergy has announced the SigenStor NEO. This new product targets standard Australian homes, where easy installation and lower price matter most. The NEO is expected to arrive in Australia in the second half of 2026. It is designed to sit alongside the existing SigenStor platform, rather than replace it.

CSIP-AUS and WA Grid Compliance
All SigenStor systems installed from May 2026 must meet the CSIP-AUS communications standard, under the updated WA grid connection rules. CSIP-AUS lets Western Power monitor solar and battery systems on the Synergy network remotely. If needed, it can also adjust how these systems export power.
The SigenStor includes built-in WiFi and CSIP-AUS support, so it needs no extra hardware. For Perth homes on the Synergy network, this means the SigenStor meets all current grid connection rules straight out of the box.
On Synergy DEBS feed-in, single-phase homes with inverters up to 5 kW receive the full DEBS rate. This is 2c/kWh off-peak, and 10c/kWh during the 3 pm to 9 pm peak window. Three-phase homes, or those with larger inverters, face a 1.5 kW standing export limit under current Western Power rules. This limit does not apply if you are enrolled in an approved VPP arrangement. WA Battery Rebate Eligibility
DC-coupled SigenStor systems installed with the SigEnergy hybrid inverter qualify for both the Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program (CHBP) and the WA Residential Battery Loan. This applies as long as the product stays on the WA Sustainable Systems List at the time of installation.
AC-coupled SigenStor systems, retrofitted to an existing inverter, qualify for the Federal program. They are not eligible for the WA loan, which specifically requires DC coupling.
