Who are BYD?

BYD Solar Batteries
BYD Batteries use Lithium Iron Phosphate cell chemistry, which ensures better performance over time, allowing for more cycles, less degradation, and increased safety.
The Battery Box is modular, allowing for extra modules to be added to meet your energy needs over time. Also multiple Battery stacks can be connected together to operate as a single unit.
To maximise the benefits of the BYD battery, we recommend combining it with the Fronius GEN24 inverter. This enables stored solar energy usage at night, essential circuit back-up power, supply of loads and charging of battery, high self-consumption, and self-sufficiency rates.
BYD HVM and HVS
The BYD Battery Box offers two battery options, the HVM and HVS, with the main difference being the voltages of each module. The HVS has a nominal voltage of 102.4 V per module, while the HVM has a nominal voltage of 51.2 V per module. This leads to differences in charging and discharging power. The HVS is scalable up to 10.2kWh and stackable to 30.6kWh, and the HVM scalable up to 22kWh and stackable to 66kWh.
The BYD HVM and HVS batteries are DC-coupled battery solutions that require a hybrid inverter to operate. Hybrid inverters manage both the solar panels and batteries.
Positive Energy focuses on the premium side of the market and offers two suitable solar inverters, the Fronius GEN24 Plus and the Sungrow SH Series. Please see the complete list of compatible inverters.
