We recently installed a Solar and Battery system upgrade for our customer, Steven, in Secret Harbour. Steven already had 13 existing 330W solar panels, but realised this was not sufficient for powering his modern home or charging a battery he wanted to add. Not satisfied with the original solar company, Steven contacted Positive Energy to upgrade the system.
Rather than removing the existing panels, we re-wired them to a new dual-input 10kW Sungrow Hybrid inverter, and installed an extra 9kW of QCells solar panels on the 2nd inverter input. In total, Steven now has a 13.3kW solar PV system with a 12.8kWh Sungrow battery.
This solar installation in Secret Harbour can produce an average of 54 units per day; enough to power Steven’s home day & night, even when it’s cloudy.
When a grid-outage occurs, this Sungrow system will switch to Backup Mode and supply power to essential circuits such as lights, fridge, TV and internet.

Today we checked in on Steven to see how his solar and battery system has been performing. Over the last 6 months, Steven’s home in Secret Harbour has used 5,120 kWh of energy. Fortunately, 88% of that has come from his Solar & Battery system!
Steven is now considering adding 1 more battery module to his Sungrow Battery stack to increase his self-sufficiency to 100%
