Prices cover every address between Yanchep and Mandurah. Each price is the BYD tower and a Fronius GEN24 Plus hybrid inverter to run it, supplied and installed beside your existing solar panels, with a smart meter already in place. Backup is an optional extra from $2,290, for the whole home or for essential circuits, depending on your inverter. The price changes if the switchboard needs work, the cable run is difficult, or the home is double storey. Your exact price is confirmed in your quote.
The BYD Battery-Box Premium HVM
The BYD Battery-Box Premium HVM is a solar battery storage system for the home, built as a tower. Each tower is a stack of 2.76 kWh lithium iron phosphate modules on one base, with BYD's battery control unit on top. Paired with a Fronius inverter, a tower is four to eight modules high. In Perth we supply and install the 11, 13.8 and 16.6 kWh towers with the Fronius GEN24 Plus hybrid inverter.
BYD develops its lithium iron phosphate cells in-house. That chemistry is used in home batteries because it is stable and long-lived. The tower carries VDE 2510-50 and IEC 62619 safety certification, two standards written for lithium batteries in stationary storage.
Your panels make DC power. Your home runs on AC power. The inverter's job is to turn one into the other, and every time power is converted, a little is lost. A BYD tower is DC-coupled, which means it plugs into the battery input of the GEN24 Plus and is charged straight from the panels. The power is converted once, on its way into the house, so more of the solar you make ends up as power you use. BYD rates the round trip at 96 per cent or better, and the usable figure for each tower is measured at 100 per cent depth of discharge, so all of it is yours to use.
Each module adds 51.2 volts, so a taller tower runs at a higher voltage. The GEN24 Plus moves power into and out of a battery at up to 22 amps, so the battery's voltage sets how much power flows. With a 10 kW GEN24 Plus, an 11 kWh tower charges and discharges at about 4.5 kW, a 13.8 kWh tower at about 5.6 kW and a 16.6 kWh tower at about 6.8 kW. A bigger BYD stores more and delivers more at once.
Every tower is 585 mm wide and 298 mm deep, and only the height changes with the size. It stands on the floor on its own base and is fixed to the wall behind it. It is IP55 rated, which means it is protected against dust and water jets. It suits a garage or a shaded spot outside, and it works from -10 to +50 degrees Celsius.

Two more sizes sit above the shop's three. The 19.3 kWh tower, seven modules, is the tallest a single-phase Primo GEN24 Plus takes, and it is priced in your quote. The 22.1 kWh tower, eight modules and 2,160 mm tall, runs on a three-phase Symo GEN24 Plus or Verto Plus.

How your BYD battery works
On a normal day the system runs itself. The panels power the house first. What is left over charges the BYD tower. Once it is full, the rest goes to the grid, up to Western Power's export limit. After sunset the battery runs the house until it is empty or the sun comes back.
The GEN24 Plus runs the battery through a data cable, so the inverter decides when it charges and when it discharges. You see the whole system in the Fronius Solar.web app: what the panels are making, how full the battery is, what the house is using, and what is going to or coming from the grid. The app's battery control lets you adjust how the battery charges and how full it is kept. BYD's Be Connect Plus app is the tool used at installation to set up the tower and keep its software current.
What runs in a Perth blackout
Fronius offers two levels of backup on a BYD system. PV Point is built into every GEN24 Plus. It powers one fused outlet or circuit, up to 3 kW, single phase, and it works with or without a battery. Think fridge, router and phone chargers. On a 10 kW Primo GEN24 Plus it switches over within 20 seconds.
Full Backup is what most Perth homes ask for. It needs the GEN24 Plus, the BYD tower and a Fronius Backup Controller in the switchboard. When the grid drops out, the controller separates your home from the street on its own and hands it to the battery and panels in about 10 seconds. When Western Power restores supply, it reconnects. A 10 kW Primo GEN24 Plus (single phase) or a Verto Plus (three phase) backs up the whole home. A Symo GEN24 Plus backs up your essential circuits. Backup is an optional extra, from $2,290.
In a blackout the house runs on what the battery delivers plus what the panels are making. With a BYD, the battery's share follows the size of the tower: about 4.5 kW from an 11 kWh tower, 5.6 kW from a 13.8 kWh tower and 6.8 kW from a 16.6 kWh tower. On a whole-home system, lights, fridge, Wi-Fi and TV run as normal. A split system runs too, as long as it is the one large appliance on. Save the oven, the pool pump and the EV charger for when the grid is back. Which BYD size suits your home
The right size is set by how much power your home uses between sunset and sunrise. That is the power the battery has to cover. Your consultant works it out from your Synergy bill and from where your home is heading: a growing family, an electric car, or going all-electric. With a BYD, the size also sets the power, so a home that runs air conditioning through the evening often suits a taller tower, even when its overnight use is modest.

Single phase homes
Most Perth homes are single phase, so they run the Primo GEN24 Plus. The Primo takes BYD towers of four to seven modules, from 11 to 19.3 kWh. Its battery input runs from 150 to 455 volts. The eight-module 22.1 kWh tower runs up to 472 volts, above that range, so it pairs with the three-phase inverters.
Three phase homes
A three-phase home runs a Symo GEN24 Plus or a Verto Plus. Either takes towers of four to eight modules, so the full range is open, up to the 22.1 kWh tower.
Adding modules later
A BYD tower grows one 2.76 kWh module at a time, up to seven modules on a Primo and eight on a Symo or Verto Plus. A module added later carries BYD's performance warranty from the date it was sold to you. Adding to a BYD you already own is priced in your quote. If you think you will want more storage, our advice is to size the tower now.
The Fronius inverters for BYD
The battery is one half of the system. The inverter is the other half, and with a BYD it sets how fast the battery can charge and discharge. We pair the BYD HVM with Fronius, and three Fronius inverters take it. Our Fronius inverter page covers the full range. All three are made in Europe, with production at Sattledt, Austria, and are IP66 rated, so they can be mounted outside. Each meets CSIP-AUS, the standard Western Power has required on new connections since May 2026.
Primo GEN24 Plus is the single-phase inverter, sold in sizes from 3 to 10 kW, with two MPP trackers so your panels can face two directions. Its battery input takes 150 to 455 volts at up to 22 amps, which is why a BYD tower's voltage sets its power. Our BYD prices are built on the 10 kW Primo GEN24 Plus, the size that also gives whole-home backup on single phase.
Symo GEN24 Plus is the three-phase inverter, 3 to 10 kW. It takes every BYD tower from 11 to 22.1 kWh. Full Backup is available on the 6, 8 and 10 kW sizes, at up to about 3.7 kW per phase. That covers the circuits that matter, so on a Symo we design backup for essential circuits.
Verto Plus is the three-phase inverter for a home that wants everything backed up. It comes in sizes from 15 to 33.3 kW, has three MPP trackers, and gives Full Backup across all three phases. BYD lists it for towers of four to eight modules. Our guide to the three inverters goes deeper.
Already have a GEN24 Plus? The BYD joins it, and your quote reflects the inverter you already own. Have a GEN24 without the Plus? Fronius offers a software upgrade called UP.storage that switches on the battery port and Full Backup. A photo of the sticker on your inverter tells us which one you have. Fronius also makes its own battery for the GEN24 Plus, the Fronius Reserva, and your consultant can show you both side by side. If you drive electric, the Fronius Wattpilot EV charger pairs with the GEN24 Plus and charges the car from your solar.
BYD battery cost in Perth
The 11 kWh is from $12,990, the 13.8 kWh from $14,190 and the 16.6 kWh from $15,590, after the WA and Federal rebates. On three phase, the 22.1 kWh tower is from $18,690. Your two battery rebates
Every BYD tower we install qualifies for both rebates. The Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program pays about $258 for every usable kWh. Since 1 May 2026 that full rate applies to the first 14 kWh of a battery, with a smaller rate above that. The WA Residential Battery Scheme pays Synergy customers $130 for every usable kWh, up to $1,300, so each of our BYD sizes earns the full $1,300. To get it, you join the Synergy Virtual Power Plant, which can call on your battery up to 30 times a year, and you can opt out after two years. A WA no-interest loan up to $10,000, powered by Plenti, lets you pay the rest over time. We claim both rebates for you and take them off your price up front. Rebates step down on 1 January 2027. Why a battery pays in Perth
Any solar system above 5 kW in Perth is held to Western Power's 1.5 kW export limit. A BYD tower keeps the solar above that limit for your evening. Exported solar is worth far less. Synergy's buyback scheme, DEBS, pays 10 cents a kWh between 3 pm and 9 pm and 2 cents at other times, and only on inverters of 5 kW and under. On the Midday Saver tariff, a battery that charges in the low-cost middle of the day and runs the house through the expensive evening is exactly what the plan was built for. The one decision to make early is where the tower will stand. It can go indoors or outside in the shade, out of direct sun and away from anything hot. In Perth the usual answer is the garage wall beside the inverter. A 16.6 kWh tower is 1.7 metres tall and weighs up to 243 kg, so it needs a level, solid floor. One in four batteries we install is added to an existing system, so adding a battery to an existing switchboard is everyday work for our accredited installers. BYD warranty and support
10 years, 60 per cent
BYD warrants the Battery-Box Premium in Australia against defects for 10 years. It also promises the tower will hold at least 60 per cent of its usable energy for 10 years, or until it has put through a set total of energy, whichever comes first. That total is 34.15 MWh for the 11 kWh, 42.69 MWh for the 13.8 kWh and 51.23 MWh for the 16.6 kWh.
10 years on the inverter
Once it is registered on Solar.web, the GEN24 Plus or Verto Plus carries a 10-year Fronius Warranty Plus. That covers parts, service and transport. The documents are on our warranties page.
10-year workmanship, one call
Our own installation workmanship is covered for 10 years, with us as your single point of contact for any manufacturer claim. Positive Energy Protection, Powered by Omnidian, watches your system 24/7 alongside Solar.web. Our own engineers in Perth and local field technicians back it up.
A few conditions are worth knowing. BYD's warranty starts six months after the tower was made, or 30 days after it is delivered to your home when the delivery date is on record. It covers a tower run with an inverter on BYD's compatible list, kept within -10 to +50 degrees, and kept in service without a six-month break. Report a fault within 30 days of noticing it. Tell us, and we take it to BYD and its Australian service partner, Alps Power.

Can I add a BYD battery to my existing solar system?
Yes. Our BYD prices are built for exactly that: the tower and a Fronius GEN24 Plus hybrid inverter go in beside the solar panels you already have. If you already own a GEN24 Plus, the battery joins it and your quote reflects that. One in four batteries we install is added to an existing system.
How much power can a BYD battery deliver at once?
With a 10 kW GEN24 Plus, about 4.5 kW from the 11 kWh, 5.6 kW from the 13.8 kWh and 6.8 kW from the 16.6 kWh. The 19.3 kWh gives about 7.9 kW and the 22.1 kWh about 9.0 kW. The power rises with the size because each module adds voltage, and the GEN24 Plus battery input takes up to 22 amps.

Is a BYD battery worth it in Perth?
For most homes with a system above 5 kW, yes. Western Power holds those systems to a 1.5 kW export limit, and a BYD tower keeps the solar beyond it for your evening. A kWh you store and use at night is worth more than the few cents Synergy pays to export it. Both rebates come off the price up front, and your quote shows the figure for your own bill.
